A study of knowledge use effectiveness in IS department–A human agency perspective

Purpose Information technology changes rapidly, and the market trend flow even faster. The information systems (IS) department in a technological oriented environment has to ensure that plans or solutions made by IS can align with organizational strategy avoid resources waste, adaptability is crucial issue for an too. This study believes alignment of are ambidexterity. concept knowledge use effectiveness (KUE), based on human agency theory, proposed research model mainly founded intellectual capital, contextual ambidexterity, used capital (including human, structure relational capital) as framework find antecedents usage. Design/methodology/approach conducts empirical method collects 150 valid cases from employees Taiwan. Findings results this are: (1) KUE significantly improves ambidexterity; (2) positive influence KUE; (3) despite having no iteration, iterational adaptability. Originality/value For academics, developed through novel perspective uses articulate characteristic KUE, thus combined ambidexterity into model. managers, they should learn effect composed By knowing that, understand concrete elaboration much better. Therefore, enhancing process usage be practical useful way improving performance.
